Christians Aroused Over Jesus Erection

Christian groups have voiced their outrage over a statue of Jesus with an erect penis. The plaster effigy, created by artist Terence Koh, is currently on show at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead until the 20th of January, in the exhibition 'Gone, Yet Still'.

    • I don't think this is any more offensive than the fuzzy blue plastic Jesus piggy banks they sell at Borders. The artist isn't necessarily poking fun at the religion, but the culture around it. This is a joke about consumerism and hegemony.

    • I don't think it's right showing Jesus with a enlarged penis as Jesus is GOD'S son and should always be depicted that way and you would never see pictures of GOD that way.
