The owner of the building on Portobello Road in London has put this recent Banksy mural on eBay and it sold for a record £208,100. What a steal! Now the lucky bidder has to pay for the removal and relocation of the piece. I wonder how Banksy feels about all of this...

here's the ebay link:

    • Someone should tag over it, or splash it. Banksy himself?
Seeing the commodification of Banksy's art and message perhaps give the work greater profile, i however don't look forward to no longer being able to view a Banksy because the bricks that used to be in that now big gaping hole in the wall are in some rich fucks house.

    • But will the transaction even go through? the buyer has some ebay feedback that says he is a waste of time and bids on things without paying up

    • Am I the only one who's beginning to feel like Banksy is 'selling-out'?

His work is still as thought provoking as ever, but does the fact he is willing to sell his work to celebrities, and subsequently, the public via celebrity-loving media, devalue his work?
