Discovering one's identity can be one of the most difficult tasks to master in life. Transitioning from one gender to another multiplies the challenge. Kay Lockheart, 23, is biologically male, but identifies as female. Being in the beginning stages of her transition to womanhood, Kay explores her feelings and thoughts about her process of transition.

    • I think some parts of this pod are good, but others that made me doubtful.

      Just because Kay starts hormones, he doesn't necessarily have to have his penis surgically removed and get a vagina. As he said, they recommend that people who want to change sexes dress and act in that way for 2 years before they consider having sexual reassignment surgery.

      I didn't like the part where Kay gets picked up on the street, it seemed to me like prostitution and for many transgendered or gay people sometimes it leads to that because hormones and surgery is so expensive.

      I would've liked to have seen more stories, not just Kay's because there are so many different levels of being transgendered. For female to male (FTM) there are women who choose to get a mastectomy and some who have not while others have chosen to get a phalloplasty (construction of a penis from tissue grafts from arm, thigh or belly). This is an extremely personal decision and for each person it is completely different.

      Nonetheless, thank you for making this pod, it will at least shed light for those who know nothing of the process of transition and the decisions one will have to make during that time.

    • I find this pod really interesting. I always thought of how would one of these people think on how to deal and act if their in transition.

      This person talks about taking hormones, and how to act to fit the gender qualities, or if he wants his privates changed or not.
