Who was the better slam dunker in 70’s ? Julius “Doctor J” Erving, or Connie Hawkins ? Some Highlights from the mythical Aba slam dunk contest in 1976 say Erving, but Hawkins wasn’t there. That year the competitors were Julius Erving, Artis Gilmore, George Gervin, Larry Kenon and David Thompson.
