Beth Ditto is rock's gift to voluptuous ladies. She's got a larger than life personality and an inimitable style that screams confidence. And now she's set to launch a range of styles for high street retailer Evans due to hit stores in July. The collection will feature graphic dresses, oversized knitwear and accessories for the plus-size women's clothing chain. This is the second big story about a curvy woman breaking in to the otherwise svelte fashion world this week (see Adele breaking in to the pages of Vogue http://current.com/items/89779875/british_singer_adele_headed_for_vogue.htm). Do you think the fashion industry has finally accepted that not all women are 6 ft tall bean poles and they're making an effort to get curves on to the catwalk?

Evans need all the help they can get. They sell some ugly crap. It is all so tent-ish.

In a word, no. In two words, not yet.
Valentino's embraced curves, which is great. Baby Phat makes a great line from sizes 0-26. Lane Bryant is getting more and more fashion forward every day. There are other examples I can't think of right now. But I doubt mainstream runway/editorial fashion will feature plus size fashion as much or as lavishly as they do sizes 0-6.
