finally after a couple months of waiting for my mighty mend it to come in, i have finally come close to atually finishing the coat,.. all thats left after this stage is the liner,.. maybe a bit of ~frill~ to jazz it up a bit,.. i surely dont want it to be bland,.. do i need to add more to it?

total time it took me to complete this coat was about 10 days,.. the 2 months it was just hanging up waiting for the mendit to come in,.. i have been told by some people that they had never seen an actual coat like this,.. now i am not a smart man,.. i have not had any training in making these things other than my past experiences,.. i firmly believe that anyone can do these same things if they put thier mind to accomplishing complex feats of incredible difficulty,.. i think they key point of doing something like this is tenacity,.. i too am at fault for not doing diligence to some jobs and paid more due to others that were not as worthy in getting accomplished,.. it feels good to know that i actually created this with my own hands,.. no sewing machine,.. just scissors and a needle and thread,.. well until the mighty mend it came in (thankfully),.. i had rehydrated the snake after about 25 years of being rolled up in a bag,.. it took a whole 8 oz bottle of glycerin to soften this bad boy up,.. of course and 18 foot snake what else would you expect? LOL i cannot wait for my next pelted coat,.. i am thinking my next project will involve a couple large rattlers from out in the desert.

i cannot fully explain the feeling that goes along with accomplishing a coat of this magnitude,.. when you walk into a bar or a casino,.. the feeling of knowing that all eyes are on you is a scary one at first,.. but i seem to find it more comforting as time passes to know that everyone's eyes are on my coat,..and eventually they confront me for more information,.. it is like a wearable business card,.. that is always for sale,.. in which i have sold dusters off my back before

i was always told by many people of whom i respected that "if you every do anything worth talking about make sure you do it the right way",.. another friend said to me, if it's worth doing at all,.. why not do it first class all the way?" i,.. being a perfectionist by proxy of being an artist ( or is that OCD?) in any case,.. i try to do things to the point of over thought sometimes,.. i always feel that something can always be better,.. when there are times,.. that i just need to stop.

so, i try to do it all,.. first class show stopping piece of artwork,.. i hope all those PETA people arent made at me for using a snake,.. i guess it dont matter if they gonna be mad at me for using elk skin,.. man,.. ya just cant win with those people,.. next thing it will be raping the cotton plant for its precious fibers,.. oh boy,.. dont get me started on that!
