Young Tibetan dancers in Calgary

Young Tibetans in Calgary practicing a traditional Tibetan dance, which they will perform during His Holiness the Dalai Lama's visit in Calgary Sep 30-Oct 2, 2209. Since the occupation of Tibet by China in 1959, Tibetans in Tibet face an imminent threat of losing their traditional Tibetan identity, including folk songs and dances. Therefore in exile, the Tibetans are attempting to preserve our unique and distinct cultural identity, through language, religion, history and our dances and songs.
