Marvel: The best writing in comics

When Disney bought Marvel Comics two months ago, it capped an astonishing turnaround for a company that had been in bankruptcy just over a decade ago. The secret origin of Marvel Comics’ amazing success isn’t such a secret, says Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada. In fact, it’s written on every page.

    • “The most important part of our comics is the writing,” Quesada says. “My philosophy is about quality. In my ten years here—my almost-ten years—that has never changed. What leads us to the best story?”

Well,....1/2 right. Long after "bad" movies based on re-worked well written comic plot lines have become nothing more than dusty memories on the blu-ray archivists shelf,.... The splash pages of the great illustrators will be evoking "wow" from artists and young fans. One image CAN bring a story to life.Lousy or mediocre art can stifle a tale on the printed page as surely as a hack script can sink a movie.
