As we look ahead to 2010, I look behind to 2009. Zojo-ji Temple in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo is worth a New Years Eve visit as they have lots of activities going on from Buddhist priests chanting, mochi-making, hatsumode (New Years Prayer), hot sake drinking, burning old New Year charms, ringing the huge bell, and selling charms and food.
