I've been working on this series of paintings of early 20th century blue collar homes that sprinkle the hillsides here in Pittsburgh. Each painting is comprised of two to three pieces of wood and coated with a high gloss resin which gives the art a toy like appearance. For the past few years I've been living/painting in one of these houses in steel town but what makes this house special is that it is the childhood home of artist Andy Warhol. There is a lot of history here and I really dig hearing the stories of each room told by Andy's brother Paul Warhola. It makes for a very unique studio and place to call home.
