The Great Freshening - Spring 2011 Trends in Pastels

I’ve been drifting away from my comfortable, vivid neutrals and crawling slowly towards the bright bug-zapper that is pastel.

Lavender has always been one of my absolute favorite colors. It’s gorgeous in almost every form, and looks amazing with almost every color – seriously. Right now, I love super-super pale shades with really luxurious fabrics like suede and chiffon.

I’m also in a deep love affair with mint. It’s not quite blue, it’s not quite green, but it’s also not teal, and not turquoise. It’s just clean, and sweet, and gorgeous.

Buttercup is warmer and paler than your typical lemon color, and feels cozy no matter what the shape. Bonus: it girly-fies any super-tough stuff you’re wearing.

So, what do you think of this kind of palette? Am I crazy? Moreover, if I did get an opportunity to rock pastels in such a bold manner – what would that look like? How would you wear pastels?

    • Pastel colors are cool in the eyes.... mostly in the time of Season, they are used in Valentines Season only specially in some reserved Department Store as Motif.

    • I am reasonably secure in my masculinity,......I'm just not sure I'm comfortable with . . ."Buttercup".

( . . . and thats a tad beyond the question of simply "Is it right for ME" ? )
