Crowning the unofficial world champion of bicycle thieves..

This weeks events proved that Democratic attempts to move the press debates away from race haven't quite succeeded. It came with little surprise that Michelle Obama hailed her husband an extraordinary president; and succeeded in attracting a wealth of mixed press reports. The general consensus seems to be that she ticked all the right boxes, emphasising her husband's self-effacing beginnings and lauding American values. Wired.com called the speech "heartfelt and earthy", reporting that her words were met with "almost universal praise" on the social network Facebook.. with even a Republican eulogizing the couple!

Speaking of Facebook - writer, producer and co-creator of The West Wing is in the process of assembling a film about the initiation of Facebook. "I've just agreed to write a movie for Sony and producer Scott Rudin about how Facebook was invented," Sorkin wrote in his intro to the group page on the network itself (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=33807262256&ref=nf) which has already flocked up 4,100 members. Feel free to chime in and give the man some advice on to make this errr.. suspenseful motion picture.
