"Ghanaian para-cyclist, Alem Bawa Mumuni has qualified to participate in the Union Cycliste International (UCI) Para–Cycling World Championship slated for Italy in September.
Mumuni, who turns 26 on December 31 made certain of his ticket to the global championship by emerging the overall best cyclist at the just ended JAPHAF (Games of the Future for the Disabled People of French-speaking Africa) in Niamey, Niger."

I'm really excited to see how this young rider does. He has an amazing spirit and strength. I'm even more interested in the Worlds now (if that was possible). BTW, he qualified on a bike donated through USAID (Agency for International Development). You can help by donating your used bike, too!

BTW, the picture is of Emmanuel Yeboah, another paracyclist from Ghana. I couldn't find one of Alem yet, but I'm thinking after the Worlds I'll have no trouble :) Emmanuel is an amazing story is his own right, and has been the subject of a documentary ("Emmanuel's Gift", http://www.emmanuelsgift.com/ ) narrated by Oprah.
