The quake could be felt from Venezuela to Suriname.
A waiter at a hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico said he could barely feel it, but he heard the sounds of glasses vibrating.

I love Dominica!
One of my all time favorite spots on the earth. I haven't been everywhere, but my favorites places so far are California, New Zealand and Dominica.
When I was in Roseau, they had just had there first gang murder, ever! To put that crime in perspective, during my month long stay in Jamaica there were almost 100 murders. Jamaica big problem! Dominicans were very conscious of not becoming the next "Jamaica."

Dominica has beautiful people, a great island vibe, some organic farming, and electricity from hydro power, Dominica won't disappoint. Travel is easy and inexpensive by bus, think mini van. Hiking gear is a must, but camping is generally not allowed in Dominica. There are plenty of houses and hotels to choose from, many not too expensive.
One hotel, even had volcanic hot water piped into our room and natural hot tubs. Volcanologists, geologists, marine biologist and ornithologists will rejoice in the splendor and beauty that is Dominica.
One volcanic river is just barely cool enough to get in the waterfall, amazing. Hot water up wells on the beach at Soufrière, creating a natural hot tub in the shallows on the beach. Volcanic activity also creates bubbles in the ocean which locals call "Champaign" diving.
SCUBA Dominica:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnlyAh7E0ncThe island's nickname - the nature island - is inspired by the hundreds of streams and lakes that make Dominica a nature-lover's paradise. Unlike many other Caribbean islands, the steep, mountainous terrain on Dominica prevented much clear-cutting, and the pristine rain forests remain largely untouched. To help maintain this natural resource, the government has set aside almost two-thirds of the island as parks and nature preserves. Hikers can climb the 4,700-foot/1,410-meter Morne Diablotin on the island's north or tackle the Trois Pitons or the Soufrière volcano in the south. Hikers also trek across to the Valley of Desolation and Boiling Lake, a natural hot springs.

Here's the BBC's report on the Earthquake. No casualties have been reported as of yet, hopefully it will stay this way.
