Canoeist's Sons Are the Victims Of His Scam

Forget the insurance scam. The victims of this continually twisting story are the couple's sons, Anthony and Mark. They've released a statement saying that they feel they've been scammed, and that they want no more contact with their parents.
"If allegations of a confession from our mam are true then we very much feel that we have been the victims in a large scam... Having seen the recent media speculation surrounding our parents ever since our dad was arrested, we are very much in an angry and confused state of mind. How could our mam continue to let us believe our dad had died when he was very much alive? We have not spoken to either of our parents since our dad's arrest and at this present time we want no further contact with them. We have been in constant contact with the police and will be helping them with their enquiries in any way we can."
This is really heartbreaking. If my parents did this to me, I can't even imagine how I would react. Losing a parent, and then grieving about it, and learning to live with your loss is one thing. And then to find out is was all a big lie...and for some money?? It's absolutely tragic.
