NBA teammates pull guns on each other in Locker Room

NBA all-star Gilbert Arenas pulled a gun on teammate Javaris Crittenton on Christmas Eve in the Wizards locker room. Crittenton, not to be out done, pulled his heat as well. You will never guess what the dispute was about or can you?

    • Gilbert Arenas once turned down a huge salary increase offered to him by the Washington Wizards, stating that he didn't want the franchise to pay him that much more money, since his family was already well-taken-care-of. He is a very charitable athlete whom I wouldn't consider overpaid. He has admitted to storing unloaded guns in the locker room, but he denies drawing on his teammate. With that being said, this is still a ridiculous & shameful incident for him to be involved with, & it is contrary to his reputation.

    • Why is it that idiots like these two overshadow the brilliant black men who should be looked at as role models? I haven't watched the NBA since Michael Jordan was dominating in it, and it was sparingly at best. I watched a few of Lebron's games and he's pretty good. But mostly it's high priced idiots like these that ruin things for everyone else.

Commissioner should do them a favor and suspend them from the league indefinitely. Then they can go out and live the real "thug life".

"They should be suspended"?! They should be fired. Period. You can bet your ass that I'd loose MY job if I pulled a gun on a coworker. They need to be brought back down to reality. A GIANT reality check is in order.

    • Live in the DC area and a Wizards fan. Used to this kind of $hit. Rod Strictland, Chris Webber it always seems to be a Wizards player. Guess you should pay you debts.

    • STOP CALLING ANYBODY WHO PLAYS A KIDS GAME A ROLE-MODEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just because somebody is good at a sport does not instantly make them someone deserving of respect

Becoming a role-model is earned through your actions and not your athletic ability so please maybe teach your kids that having millions of dollars isnt the only thing that can make you somebody to look up to

Though I do not personally think of them as role models, many people do and it is not because they just look up to them. The league goes out of there way to tout the players as examples for youth. They encourage youth to follow the path these athletes take in life. They use them as public speakers to explain how they made it where they did, to go to schools and read with the children, to help out with charitable events in various communities. This is expected of them and they therefore can be deemed ROLE MODELS.....

    • I want to know why they had guns in the locker room to begin with? What do you need a gun at a ball game for are they scared they may get mugged? Only a PUNK would need a gun at a basketball game.

    • Big paychecks, bigger egos. Why are the dumbest chaff payed so much? Yeah, yeah I know; billion dollar industry, sheep wanting to be entertained. No reason we can't tax the living daylights off these morons though.

      ozoneocean,

That really makes no sense. First of all, DC already has some of the most anti-American gun laws in the country. Secondly, the guns these two had were illegal including one with a modified serial number.

Hence, your gun control didn't work.

When will people realize that criminals don't care about laws?

    • Over a gambling debt? I wonder how much he owed?

This is shameful behavior for people whom are deemed (or self proclaimed) role models for our youth. I understand the roots of some players and the connections that they may still have to members of their communities, but when you sign a contract with any professional sports team, you really should distance yourself from any illegal activities.

No, I am not that naive and I get that there is corruption and illegal activity in all socioeconomic demographics, but they really should recognize when the have a good thing going. Why throw away millions of dollars in contracts for petty gain or habits? This can be applied to all professional sports where corruption runs rampant (NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, etc).
