Pacific Symphony explores Mexican classical music

The Pacific Symphony's final program of the season, heard Thursday night in Segerstrom Concert Hall, offered a healthy sampling of the classical music of Mexico, including a distinguished and stirring premiere. It also introduced an exciting young Mexican conductor, a brilliant Mexican pianist and a compelling Mexican organist. It proved both an entertaining and intellectually stimulating evening of music, and if it went on a little too long, it was all good.

The concert is repeated Friday and Saturday nights, and can be heard live on KUSC, 91.5, FM on Saturday.
