Hurricane Dean strengthens over Caribbean

Hurricane Dean, which could develop into a Category 4 hurricane over the next few days, strengthened somewhat Friday after pounding the eastern Caribbean islands of Martinique and Dominica on a path toward Jamaica, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

    • One of our CJ contributors is from Jamaica. I just emailed him to see if he was battening down the hatches and he said he was actually in LA. But trying to get on the next flight back! (Nuts!)
