"The Basics:
The Journal for Human Advancement: Independent Projects for Progress and Human Rights is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed publication prepared by The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC. It is set to be published semi-annually online, on disc, and in print. The first issue is slated for early 2010.

The Purpose:
This Journal is published in order to encourage and develop a general public familiarity with human rights and to foster a productive critical understanding of human rights ideology and practice. Articles include basic introductions to the material, case studies, and theoretical discussions, as well as scientific and artistic works that deal with any themes in human rights.

This Journal is intended to work towards an understanding for the origins, development, direction, applications, conflicts and controversies in human rights, as well as to bring attention to both the relation between human rights and policy and the implementation of policies into practice. Moreover, the Journal for Human Advancement seeks to bring together various disciplines and genres to promote a multifaceted and interdisciplinary framework for evaluating human rights.

The Authors and Artists:
Many of our authors and artists are undergraduate students; however, the Journal is open to submissions from everyone. Everyone is welcome to submit their original, unpublished works to this journal for consideration. Students of all levels, academics, professionals, and amateurs alike are all encouraged to send in their works to be reviewed by our editors and for a chance to be published alongside other thinkers, researchers, artists, and activists.

Submission Guidelines:
Submission guidelines can be found in the front-matter of any published issue of the Journal. A PDF overview of our guidelines is available here. (http://robertgoodis.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/docs/Submission_Guidelines.32323...)

And while you're at it, check out our special request for our first issue. (http://robertgoodis.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/docs/Special_Request_for_Submiss...)

Submission does not guarantee publication. Copies of the Journal will be provided to those published in each respective issue only if funding permits. Published authors and artists will receive free online access to their issues through The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC.

The Journal makes no guarantee that it will be able to provide feedback on any submissions it receives. Our staff will try to provide a productive review and critique of all submissions, but our capacity for this amount of work as a fully volunteer-based organization will be limited.

If you still have questions, please contact us at journal@robertgoodis.org for more information.

If you have materials to submit that already meet the guidelines, please email your submission to journal@robertgoodis.org and/or mail it in duplicate to:
