11% had apparently been asked to become part of a gang with 15% feeling pressure to carry a weapon with almost double that knowing someone who carried a weapon.
"More than half felt the UK was less safe than a year ago and 78% said they did not feel safe walking the streets."
How do you feel walking the streets? What's your thoughts on the research findings?

I rode public transportation in LA for 6 years. I never had a seriously violent incident. If you're out on the streets a lot, you just learn to avoid certain people and certain areas.

I've yet to be encountered on the street or any time during my life. The only time someone was in my face was in 5th grade and he wanted to see if I would flinch---he was made I beat him in the game we were playing.
Other than that nadda. Not yet....I'm sure I'll get some sort of drama on the street.

Me and 3 friends were attacked by 6 people with nunchuks. They weren't ninjas though cause they ended up catching a beating.

Fortunately, I've never been threatened or pressured into anything dangerous, but I feel it might be more common once I go off to the big city for college. If anything, I think older people and hot chicks are the most vulnerable on the streets.

In 2 years I've been threatened with a knife twice and once with a bottle.
It really depends who you are asking when doing these studies, since in certain parts of Manchester I do feel un-safe, whilst in other places I'd be happy to wander round solo.
