MUSLIM "PEACE PROTESTERS" CALL FOR "JEWS TO GO BACK TO THE OVEN"

*** BREAKING NEWS ***

To all those that think you can be anti-zionist but not anti-semitic, be aware that that is a distinction that a larger percentage of the arab yourth does not understand. You are literally getting into bed with rabid antisemites who attack Jews for just being Jewish. Jews who have nothing to do with Israel.

When you support the Palestinians to the exclusion of Israel you are supporting these violent racist forces. I'm sure it's not your intent, but it's a fact that this is what is happening. Jews are being attacked because arab youths are not distguishing Israeli soldiers from europeans who happen to be Jewish.

It would be absurd and immoral for me to attack random muslims in america because hamas is firing rockets into israel. The thought wouldn't even occur to me. But to the arabs, apparently it makes sense to attack random Jews. Sad and immoral.

----

PARIS (AP) - Signs are mounting that the conflict in Gaza is starting to spill over into violence in Europe's towns and cities, with assaults against Jews and arson attacks on Jewish congregations in France, Sweden and Britain.

Assailants rammed a burning car into the gates of a synagogue in Toulouse, in southwest France, on Monday night. Unlighted gasoline bombs were also found in a car nearby and in the synagogue's yard.

A Jewish congregation in Helsingborg, in southern Sweden, also was attacked Monday night by someone who "broke a window and threw in something that was burning," said police spokesman Leif Nilsson. Neighbors alerted rescue services before the fire took hold.

Someone also started a blaze outside the premises last week. And on Sunday slogans including "murderers ... You broke the cease-fire" and "don't subject Palestine to ethnic cleansing" were daubed on Israel's embassy in Stockholm.

In Denmark, a 27-year-old Dane born in Lebanon of Palestinian parents is alleged to have injured two young Israelis last week, opening fire with a handgun in a shooting that police suspect could be linked to the Gaza crisis.

France has Western Europe's largest Jewish and Muslim communities and a history of anti-Semitic violence flaring when tensions in the Middle East are high. In 2002, some 2,300 Jews left France for Israel because they felt unsafe.

In the Danish shooting, one Israeli man was shot in the arm and another in the leg as they were selling hair care products in a shopping mall. Eli Ruvio, who owns the company that operated the stands, said his employees have been harassed by Muslim youths since they set up three kiosks in the shopping center in August.

"They kept cursing and shouting at us," Ruvio told The Associated Press. He added that the Muslim youths also threw mud and firecrackers at the employees and spat at them.

Ruvio recalled an episode Dec. 27 when some of the youths shouted "slaughter all the Jews."

Well put. I sent a message to the Current Online Team with a complaint about the standards and about datamined's banning.

I also asked them to reconsider datamined's banning. I certainly felt it was unfair considering what had been said by other users who I will not mention by name...

    • What about the hundreds of thousands of people killed in the name of God over that last few thousand years so the Israelite Nation could even come into conception. We need to look at history and not just the last hundred years. The freakin picture needs to be took in account when considering how the conflict became religious in the first place. Why are people so scared of historical fact.

Those hundreds of thousands can never compare to the MILLIONS of Jews that have been killed throughout history since the time of Rome...

All I know is that the Jews deserve their own homeland.

    • Will the coward who banned datamined please answer her questions about the double standard that is so in evidence at current? I'd like to know why any poster who made slurs against Jews, who seized on certain surnames, who engaged in personal attacks, who seeks to intimidate and shout down opposition, who freely posts Hamas propaganda is allowed to carry on unabated. If, as you say, certain posters have been warned, why do they remain unnamed while datamined is singled out? Who has been warned? I'd love the opportunity to review the posts of those members to determine if their actions merit sanction and to help the moderators make sure that current's policies are enforced.

Actually, Jews were immigrating to the part of the protectorate west of the Jordan River long before partition. It's really not accurate to say that the Jewish State was decreed 60 years ago and then the Jews began to build the vibrant state you see today. As you say, the Jews built a state on land that Arabs had left fallow . . . but this didn't happen overnight starting 60 years ago.

In addition to jawnybnsc's comment, many of those Palestinians also SOLD their land to many of those early settlers.

Many left the region at the behest of the Arab states hostile to Israel in the region. It is only after the creation of the 1948 Israeli state that violence on the scale of a war began.

    • The Nazi's used phrases from the Koran to create satirical cartoons prior to WW2 to dehumanize Jews and prepare German citizens to accept the atrocities that were to come. That's a fact!

After the mass executions Israel swore never again to be a victim to murder, attacks, torture, or kidnapping. That's a fact!

Egypt started the 6 days war that resulted in the loss of territory to Israel. That's a fact!

The Swiss accepted and have hidden since WW2, looted Jewish/European assets. That's a fact!

The Swiss still facilitate global money laundering by criminals, dictators, and other generator's of unearned assets. That's a fact!

    • It is easy to see that this conflict has passionate opinions on both sides. It is key to understand that this is a conflict between two very religious nations and not a conflict between religious groups.

Please consider this and the community standards when posting.

      http://current.com/s/community_standards.htm

Current encourages debate and we want to hear both sides of the story in a reasoned manner. We are all intelligent people lets try and raise the conversation to new levels through information.

As always if you need to flag a comment you think is breaking our community standards then you can do so. Alternatively drop myself, or one of the community team a message, we are here to help.

It's not a matter of HATING. It's a matter of ANGER. Who in their right mind can NOT be mad at hundreds of innocent Palestinian civilians being slaughtered ? I'm mad there are actually people on current actually DEFENDING the actions of Israel. As a lurker in current, I've never bothered commenting. But seeing all these ignorant comments actually DEFENDING Israel's human rights violations brought me up to try and shed light for those who are ignorant about this conflict. I don't hate the ignorance, I'm just mad that that is how it is.

      Zero,

Astute as always. Though we are opposites on many issues more and more I feel we would be friends in the real world. Fear not, I am happy to know you here.

Given the short period that this situation has been active, plus the obvious limited audience, the polarization and intensity of opinion brings into marked contrast the intractable and disparate differences inherent in the complexities of this conflict.

If we, who have little or nothing at stake in the outcome, cannot find any common ground for agreement. Imagine the intellectually blinding intensity to those who are involved.

Our opinions bleed us dry and leave us speechless in the desert of mortality. I saw a picture today, me, myself, of a four year-old child being laid in the earth. Her face so innocent. Her hair so soft looking. A drop of blood from her nose so seemingly out of place. A woman in her thirties, children of her own to look forward to and to enjoy. Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, they are all gone.

It doesn't matter which side of my opinion either of these lost universes lie. "To save one person is to save the entire world." It doesn't matter which religion lays claims to that saying, it is True. Our world is less for the loss of both of these children of humanity, regardless of their religion, politics, or nation.

There are injustices on both sides of this fight. No one is innocent, Hamas and Israel both have the blood of innocents on their hands. The only virtue to come from this, is which one will be the first to lay down their arms.

      Peace, Shalam, Shalom, Zero

      V,

So you are Jewish then? It's so sad when someone is so deluded that they will stand next to those who would see their own brethren killed in cold blood. What would your relatives, who should all rest in peace, think of what you are doing?

In response to the video of these so called "rabbis," they are part of a group called the Neturei Karta, a fringe movement that is very small in number and in no way represents religious Judaism. Even the few ultra religious groups who are against zionism because it goes against the belief that Jews should only return to Israel when the messiah comes have condemned the Neturei Karta fro standing by those who wish to murder Jews. In fact, they have been given "cherem" which is pretty much the same thing as ex-communication in catholicism.

I think that both Israel and Hamas have committed war crimes.
I think that both should cease the violence.
I also think it is more important that Israel stop simply because of the completely improportionate amount of civilian deaths they have caused.

Regardless of Hamas using human shields or not, the truth is that Israel is destroying families, homes, and the lives of men, women and children. They need to listen to the rest of the world. If they did, maybe they would gain more sympathy, more legitimacy. But right now, they are the bullies, the aggressors and the mass murderers.

The question of Israel's legality as a state can and should be settled by logic and law, not the killing of innocents.

I hope you can find the time to think more about this and discuss it civilly with others, even if you feel they are wrong.

    • Vierotchka thank you for stating that you are an anti-Zionist, so that we may understand your agenda here. And yeah, you have one.
I don't know what happened to the original posts where stated your political affinity.

Now at least we understand why you have such odd views compared to what America holds dear.

Anti-Zionism has become the most dangerous and effective form of anti-Semitism in our time, through its systematic delegitimization, defamation, and demonization of Israel. Although not a priori anti-Semitic, the calls to dismantle the Jewish state, whether they come from Muslims, the Left, or the radical Right, increasingly rely on an anti-Semitic stereotypization of classic themes, such as the manipulative "Jewish lobby," the Jewish/Zionist "world conspiracy," and Jewish/Israeli "warmongers." • Well, the Jews have done little but focus on a negative thing that has happened to them over sixty years ago - they use it as a kind of blackmail and revel in victimhood - and have used it for revenge in many different ways. They are not a lot tougher, not really smarter, and yes, richer because they get six billion dollars of American taxpayers' money every year. Palestinians didn't give up, they still haven't given up, they'll never give up. The Israelis are too attached to that piece of land they have stolen, it is ruining their lives and the lives of their children. What they need is some humanity, less self-pity, and some honesty, they need to GROW UP.

And,... basically makes revenge their only focus, then, their life go's in the toilet. When Israel ended up with the land, Palestinians GAVE UP, 60 years of whining later here they are. The Palestinians are too attached to that piece of land, it is ruining their lives and the lives of their children. What they need is some ambition, less self pity, and a plan for their kids that doesn't have explosives in it. They need to GROW UP.
