Andrew Bird is the #6 most played indie artist from Chicago today on myspace. I mention that because I am always thinking about how bands achieve wider exposure and hit lists certaiinly help. But like I have said before it is hard to find a really accurate indie popularity list. Myspace does have the largest conglomeration of bands in one place in the world (I think) and their search engine does let you create some good data on who is actually popular among the people not the corporations who write up the published lists focusing on only major label acts. I am going to experiemnt with bringing you one or more daily hot lists for music based solely on popularity with listeners. The possibilities are endless, like going by location or genre or whatever...
