In 2001 the Chinese government declassified homosexuality from a mental illness. This development, along with an economic boom an emerging gay scene has began to take shape in China's most modern city Shanghai. The video explores some of the lingering ideas people still have about homosexuality as well as the aspects of this new scene.

There is nothing wrong with the translation. Those were her exact words, but I think what I find most interesting about what she said is that she was not trying to offend anyone and was actually trying to be as open-minded as she could.
