Going out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving?

Instead of slaving over a hot stove for hours, how does having a gourmet turkey prepared by a complete stranger sound for your Thanksgiving dinner? It's not as strange as you may think: "You can guarantee anyone who's open on Thanksgiving sells out," says chef Eric Brennan of Excelsior in Boston. Did you make your own Thanksgiving meal?

    • We went out for Thanksgiving dinner once, and we will never do it again! My family decided that the work of putting the meal together is worth it if it means we all sit and spend time together as a family.

    • My aunt talked about going out to dinner for Thanksgiving one year because noone wanted to cook. We convinced her to have it (we do it at her house every year) because it wouldn't have felt the same. Thanksgiving is a holiday with a lot of traditions, and we wanted to keep those personal family traditions alive.
