Patient left with £127 phone bill to make a appointment

He was hanging on the phone for 49 minutes just to make a hospital appointment at Broomfield Hospital.

After speakin to BT he was told it was no mistake and was charged £2.59 per minute for his call the 0844 number.

The hospital said he should have been charged at the local rate of 5p per minute and couldn't understand why the charge was so high.
