The True Hebrew Israelites...BLACK PEOPLE

I am grateful to you all, for the knowledge and understanding. To enhance my own journey.

I will start by saying that, scientifically, all of mankind does originate from Africa. This is a very deep and meaningful fact for anyone who feels that people of African descent are either an inferior or a superior people.

However, the notion that the Hebrew people or the Israelites were what we call "black" today is borderline ridiculous. First of all, there is a lot of blatant misinformation in some of these posts that I'd like to address. Israel was a man, and the Israelites were his lot. Interestingly, this means that the Israelite clan actually predates the nation of Israel- though obviously the Israelites were the people who founded the nation of Israel in what was Canaan. The Hebrews were not new to this area, though. Jacob(Israel) was living in Canaan before he reunited with his son Joseph(who had been brought to slavery after his brothers- while they lived in Canaan- pushed him there). Going back further, Abraham(perhaps the grandfather of Judaism, it was he who brought the blessing of his lot) lived in Canaan as well. Specifically, he probably lived in Ancient Sumer or Babylon. The Hebrews were *undoubtedly* from this area, which would make them Semites. The Hebrews were Middle-Eastern, as were the important figures of the New Testament like Jesus and Paul. They weren't black, and they weren't white. They were appropriately(for small minded racists) neither.

On the subject of Egypt, which Youtube has managed distort enough to fuel ideas of black superiority, they were...Egyptian! Ancient Egypt was spread out much further than the country of Egypt is today, but in a Biblical context the heart of the ancient civilization was around the same area as is the modern nation. It's also not hard to imagine what part of Egypt Joseph(being a slave brought from the land of Canaan) would have been settled in. Or, you could simply locate Goshen(which is where Joseph brought his family in from Canaan during the seven years of famine, and was also close to his own location). Joseph was in Northeast Africa, which would have meant his Egyptians were perhaps a bit darker than he- and what we can see today as modern Egyptians. Egypt as a whole, however, was a mix of Mid-East and African inhabitants. Archeology, art, and other obvious historical evidence suggests that the power center of Ancient Egypt was controlled by the lighter skinned Egyptians. This can also be attested to by important mummies discovered with more Eurasian qualities- which many have assumed to mean that "white" people ruled Egypt(in my opinion this is a mistake, since it's much more likely that people from area of Sumer/Babylon/Canaan were in that area). This isn't to say that no "black" Egyptians were important; it was probably the case that many of the Pharaohs were even black(not most), but it certainly shouldn't be looked at as a source of "black power" or whatever it is that some people are looking for.

The slavery argument is just silly. Africans are not the most subjugated people in history, the *actual* Hebrews probably hold that unfortunate crown. People have a very weak perception of the history of slavery. It wasn't a white-black thing. In fact, slavery was so widespread and common that even after Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, the Bible does not condemn it. The only reason African slavery in America is so taboo today is because: 1) it's -relatively- recent and 2) it was distinctly racist. The slavery itself wasn't racist, that was purely economic. Africans enslaved Africans and sold them to European settlers, but over time the white population couldn't help but see the black population as "slaves", because that's all that they knew of them..

I watched Louis Threoux's interview with the Black Israelites and they all believe the blackman is a superior being.

A few of my complaints with this:

If the ancient egyptians where black, why did they often depict themselves in their pictures as looking like modern egyptians?

Something is true because it is attested to by many?

How come he knows there is no "J" in Hebrew but still says Yahweh (there is no "W" in hebrew)?

All "nations" have diasporas and there are xenophobes (enemies) in all countries.

I am (under traditional definitions) jewish. I have curly hair that goes woolly, and, according to this argument, must be "negroid". Therefore, so must many of the (according to this video) "false" israelites, making them (according to this video) "real" israelites anyway.

However, I believe the term "israelite" to be unnecessary, as it refers to an ancient tribe not a modern "nation" in any sense of the word. I've nerd heard of any one calling themselves a moabite. (sorry if this sounds like a rant, people can think what they want, and I consider myself from the nation of Britain.)

Egypt is the key to all the Jewish mythology, how can you live in a culture as a people for 400 years and not absorb many of their ideas into your way of thinking?

Its true its too reasonable that i already knew it. The hebrews oringinated from africa(most likely Egypt) to escape from slavery, and then that is when God led them to Israel....God is neither black or white; he is transparent.(clear) Jesus is black, due to Joseph being from Egypt and so is Mary...Believe it or not.. its true...
