Breast cancer is becoming the most common cancer in British women under 35 years old. Up to 44,000 new cases are diagnosed every year, and it's not just women that suffer, each year 300 males are diagnosed with breast cancer.
This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so check yourself, check your partner and encourage your friends to check themselves as early diagnosis can save lives.
It has also been found that women who drink one large glass of wine a day, which equates to 21 units of alcohol per week, instead of the recommended 15, increase their risk by a fifth.
I was shocked by these statistics and realize the importance of checking yourself and hope that everyone out there will check themselves and help support breast cancer charities.
