Hide-n-seek adventure! Lots of fun watching this video. Really captures the essence of geocaching.

It's like there's a whole secret world out there. I once did a treasure hunt around London where each team got points for capturing certain things on camera and then you got the film developed at the end of the day and the team with the most amazing pictures won. I played the organ in Southwark Cathedral and rode a big wheelie bin like a pony. Good times.

Really interesting hobby, just thinking about the people who started this whole craze off. How did it all begin? And how do you get started?

Britglyph is a similar thing. There are 61 points across the country to which people travel with a rock. Once there, they take a photograph of themselves and their rock and then send it in to the site with the GPS location of that site.
The main site is a map which updates with these images as they are posted. Then you get an image of a timepiece or clock across the UK drawn across the map in dot to dot style.
There was also a geocaching treasure hunt in London http://moblog.net/findme where people searched the net following cryptic clues to find geo cached locations.

It's like a modern day treasure hunt!
And instead of pirates, you've got to watch out for mugglers!
There's the wiki page on geocaching at the jump.

I've heard about this cache hobby, sounds interesting. Have there been any really wild geocaching missions, like going abroad etc?

I heard about people spending their holidays geo-caching abroad. And of course travelbugs do often move from one continent to another...
