Adding fuel to the debate, some scientists see the increasing number of natural disasters in recent years as evidence of a catastrophic climax of events in 2012. How much of what we're hearing is science and how much is superstition? In this film the leading researchers, writers and scientists in the field tell us exactly what this date means to them, why it's important, and what we should expect.
Featured in the film are Graham Hancock, John Major Jenkins, Daniel Pinchbeck, Alberto Villoldo, Anthony Aveni, Robert Bauval, Jim Marrs, Walter Cruttenden, Lawrence E. Joseph, Alonso Mendez, Douglas Rushkoff, John Anthony West and Benito Vegas Duran.

Countdown to 2012 the Alignment of our sun to the center of the Galaxy. Only happen once every 26,500 Years and somehow the Myans had this knowledge as well as vast knowledge of the heavens. You have to ask yourself have we been told the whole story?
See The great culture of Sumer or the Sumerian's were the first people of our world to write, have advanced math and 98 of the other first's that we use today and need in a high society. Once ask yourself how could a culture literally right out of the stone age come up with all this knowledge. The most incredible thing of all is they had a complete record still found on the clay tablets they wrote on,Knowledge of ALL the planets, and how they were lined up the colors of all the planets when we only learned of Pluto in 1930.
How is it humanly possible to have such knowledge with out advanced help from either computers, high powered telescopes or an outside presence.
It's not! They said in their creation story which our now bible mirrors in so many ways that a race of Higher beings called the Annunaki (meaning the ones from heaven to earth came) gave them all the advanced knowledge that they had. I mean when you look at the tablets the writing almost looks Alien.
They said these beings created us in their image by manipulating our genetics, as we are able to do now. We can not always think that we are it because in a universe as vast as ours we can not be IT......
Do your own homework on the subject google , Nibiru,Sumerian Culture,Sumerian tablets,Sumerian Creation story.
See scientist's & scholars alike all like to think they have everything under control like they understand everything, but the proof is in the writing. If they are the first advanced culture as scientist & every scholar will tell you and that is fact, but if they are the first how can their stories of creation or The great flood, or the Annunaki for that matter be chalked up to myth.
You see the first culture can't have myth yet,all they have is recent history. Think about that really close. If they just learned writing and they are the first advanced culture they would only have maybe 100 years of history to write about at MOST in which case NOT old enough to become myth yet, so what they were telling us about their beginning must be history NOT MYTH. They are too busy learning to be messing around with myth, not to mention they have to write on clay tablets so when they write they mean it.

For those who created the calender I believe are telling us the end for something old. For the beginning of something new for their descendants.

This 2012 thing is so absurd. The Maya calendar says nothing about any end, just a restart. Look at the origin of this claim to see just how misinformed it really is.
Not only have there never been any prophecies found to be correct in any form in any time, but why would you also assume that such an old civilization was a good source for astronomical information. You have to ignore reality completely to believe this.
People have foretold the apocalypse and the end of the world hundreds of times in the past. Based on the complete and utter lack of evidence to supports your claim exclusively, what makes you any less wrong? Try googling "A Brief History of the Apocalypse"
Seeing this ranked as high as it is makes me lose a lot of respect for current.com(and the people voting on it).

I need to find some rich paranoid person who believes in these things, and I need to bet him ten million dollars that the world will continue to exist after 2012. The way I see it, if the fears are true, then I don't really lose anything. And if the fears are false as I think they are, I'll be ten million richer.
On second thought though, I might want to make that ten million Euro's.

I'll be here laughing on December 22, 2012, just like I stood laughing on January 1st, 2000... And after that all the mystics will come up with yet another doomsday date to make more money.
What nonsense!

if i had a calendar that spanned 5000 years i wouldnt feel the need to change it for a while. its not the end of the world everytime our calendars reach an end we just go buy a new calendar.

Everyone now! "This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, Age of Aquarius"
Anyway, world's not ending in 2012. If it is, then I should really quit college now, because by then I'll be out only 2 years.

are we really going to believe a prediction made thousands of years ago? our weathermen can't even get the forecast for tomorrow right. and are we really going to trust a calender made thousands of years ago? Shouldn't we trust our own knowledge today?
