    • Its a funny, NEW take on beauty products. Something we haven't seen before. Which, in this day and age, is something I really appreciate. And that alone will catch people's attention. I hope Almay takes a chance with this spot.

    • I'm confused that your commercial is almost a minute long when the rule page said they had to be 30 secs. There's alot you could trim on this one (and probably should have) It's kind of boring and uninteresting to hold interest for a minute. Maybe everyone should have had a minute to do their commercial too. Just calling it as I see it.

    • Yes, there could have been more shots of the product, but I do not agree that you could put any product in the scene. The same could be said for every single make-up commercial. The only difference is that those have catch phrases or song lyrics like, Covergirl or the "Maybe she's born with it..." phrase.

Adorable, cute and catches your attention.

    • almaygirl is right -- this is funny, but doesn't sell cosmetics..
all of you claiming that this made you "run out and try it right away" are full of crap.
Comeon, guys... stop it with the fake comments.

If you can take the commercial and put ANY product in her hand at the end (could have been college loan paperwork, could have been bodywash... could have been ANYTHING) then you haven't made a tailored commercial.

There aren't any closeup shots, no application shots... for all I know she's wearing Covergirl.
And it doesn't even look that spectacular.

It's a funny commercial... everyone agrees.
But my coworkers and I agree that it does NOT sell us makeup.

Still beg to differ with the negative remarks. I adore her looks - "Bobby Brownish", natural look. She is REAL, not some COVERGIRL.

Is not the idea of make up to look like you are not wearing makeup? And who wants to watch someone apply makeup any way....boring..... this new approach totally SELLS me!

      They're not negative... only constructive.
I suspect some of you are a LITTLE too close to this campaign and should refrain from taking every critique so personally.

Yes, women want to be naturally beautiful... as if they're not wearing any makeup. but they also want to GLOW... they want radiance!
We admire classic beauty, and strive for things beyond the norm.
(which is what Almay is selling... beauty beyond the norm, without drastic measures! Not that women necessarily have to don the 'natural look', but that they can choose -- still achieving the range of everyday to GLAM without pouring chemicals all over their face. That they can do good things for their skin, protect the environment AND be beautiful)

Sure, she looks great! She looks like the everyday girl with a new-age style...but the commercial doesn't go that extra mile to make her look gorgeous also.

This isn't discounting the model's looks... moreso the lighting, cloudy day and touch of synacism.

This "new approach" is cute, but it doesn't sell me makeup (and after this response, I'll never use that phrase again -- sick of repeating myself!)

Sorry if you disagree, but it's my opinion.
...and the opinion of about 60+ coworkers, ages 20-35.

[oh sheila, how many years have you been 35??]

      :)

I think the outdoors was a nice touch. The park and trees were beautiful! Funny girl.

But, you can argue that no beauty commercial makes a girl run out and buy a product. Out of the commercials i've watched on here this one is more original and unique. All the others look like every other make-up ad.

A few ad ins of her putting the make-up on and it's perfect!

I agree that her response wasn't negative but constructive.

Just to add, I don't think Pure Blends is Organic. Sure they say natural but I know it takes a lot to be able to brand something organic.

Though I like the commercial, comedy I like, which is why my submission's comedy too =)

      Good luck!

    • Awesome. Hilarious. I want more commercials like this on TV. I might not just DVR everything any skip through the all commericals when I watch shows. All the commercials are the same these days and the only ones that I remember and grab my attention are the funny ones like this. Great job!

    • Sassy, smart, hip, creatively fresh! I watched it three times and laughed each time. It entertained me and sold me on the product. I'm off to Target to try Pure Blends.

    • The existing campaign is beautiful.

As I said, your commercial is "cute"... but doesn't sell makeup.

No offense, great work & good luck.

    • So adorable. This is the best I have seen on here. Very genuine commercial.

Yes, I agree that the Leslie Bibb campaign was very boring.

    • I just finished watching the Leslie Bibb campaign and my co-workers and I found it quite boring and generic as it pertains to beauty product commercials.

Although it is very informative on the subject of "natural" and "organic", it is long winded and I lost interest after the first five seconds.

This commercial, however, made us laugh and hooked our attention from the very beginning. I agree that there should have been more visuals of the product in use, but being in the advertisement business I have to agree that this is the type of person and commercial that grabs the consumers attention and will sell a product.

    • Darling actress -- funny, funny.

BUT again, this commercial hasn't kept it's client in mind.

Look at the Leslie Bibb pure blends campaign in existence...
You guys have a super-sarcastic girl that gets mugged. Funny, but not an Almay commercial.

      Dear almaygirl,
We are disappointed to hear you feel our work did not meet the client's desires for this campaign. We of course understand that our piece was made slightly outside the sphere of traditionally accepted commercial fare, but hope you appreciate our attempt to bring a bit of fresh air to an otherwise stagnant formula of advertising. This is, after all, an open forum for new ideas and new approaches, and we appreciate the opportunity to participate and receive feedback from users.
      All our best,
      OBP

    • OMG, this is the funniest commercial I have ever seen for make-up. Why isn't it number one? The one above it is so boring.

    • Peggyw, you are so right. This is your everyday normal girl next door and she is PERFECT and absolutely charming! Makes me want to go out right now and buy this product.

    • I really liked this commerical for this product. I think she is a very good spokesperson for the Almay ad. She isn't all made up like some goddess, she's just an ordinary person like most of us. She could definetly sell me on this product. The commerical is funny and she is so cute with her facial expression at the end of the ad.

    • Ok, I was hooked from the first "Have you ever" Haha, this girl is absolutely hilarious! This one is the best hands down. I bet she even recycles.

    • I agree with Cullin. This is the best one and a better representation for the brand. This is more unique and separates itself from the typical, boring cosmetic commercials.

    • Out of all the videos, this one is the best and most catching. This girl is very corky and absolutely adorable. She is a better representation for the brand. I believe this girl would actually care that her make-up is 95% organic.
