Public banned from Japan torch leg

Japan will shut out the public at the start, midpoint and end of its leg of the Olympic torch relay, which has been marred by protests over Beijing's crackdown in Tibet.

    • its too bad the japanese people are kept from protesting, perhaps china would listen to a neighbor more than a "westerner". but then, they aren't listening to Tibet, are they?

      and in San Francisco, they had to divert the path of the torch relay.

      the world disapproves of China's human rights violations, and this is the most broadcasted way of showing it. I wonder what the actual Olympics will be like. I've already heard about some athletes forgoing this year's events.
