Starbucks to close 300 more stores

oh poo... maybe now when i'm in columbus circle or even astor place i won't have to decide which of the 3 starbucks in my viewing distance i will have to choose.

i'd rather drink mud anyway. orange is one of my favorite colors.

Since when was there a boycott? Starbucks is such an amazing franchise, their stores are above any other coffee shops and their coffee tastes amazing. I don't mind paying a lot for quality, this is the same debate as Mac vs PC. If you're fine with ordinary, plain old crap than you can get Dunkin or Tim Hortons coffee but I think Starbucks is about a lot more than just the great coffee.

Sure, sure, boycott at work. This has nothing to do with economic issues at all.

Personally, I dont know anyone right now that can afford a $5 cup of coffee. Not when that $5 will buy a bag of coffee at the supermarket and last all month!

I really don't see why you guys have such a thing against Starbucks. They better not close any of my local Starbucks though. I will single handidly make them not under perform!

Starbucks is familiar but if i can I make sure I head somewhere local selling illy coffee.

I guess I'll have to walk 100 steps to the other Starbucks around the corner.

well here in midtown nyc, i have a choice of 4 different starbucks in the 4 blocks i walk from the subway to my job...i'm sure we could afford to lose a few

this makes me a little sad. my dad works at a company that manages these as concessions at airports... this means more cutbacks on his end.. :[

Glad to see Starbucks taking a blow, but it's not cool for all of the people getting canned. It just spirals down and down and down.

Oh no! I will be forced to continue buying a whole can of coffee for the price they charge for a damn cup.....and have it last a month. I will miss driving right past.

BAILOUT STARBUCKS!

Kind of like those interest only home loans which even *I* could see were s-t-u-p-i-d, too many Starbucks shops couldn't possible stay afloat. They saturated their own market. Then some of us did boycott them, then the fast food restaurants caught on to the coffee thing. I hope Starbucks fired the marketing analysts that set them up for this fall.

Boycotting is not hurting their business, the economy is muted and to say other wise is retarded. The fact they have more than one starbucks in a 2 mile square is why they are shutting them down. There is one in the common area of the army base I'm studying at for god sakes. They shouldn't have put so many up in the first place.
