i always find stories like these a little hard to believe. put aside the stupidity of it, why on earth would you waste drugs like that? this stuff is HIGHLY illegal and one hit (a piece of blotter paper smaller than your pinky nail) will get you at least seven years in prison...here in Maine anyway. so my question is, why would you risk so much trouble and waste a hard to come by substance?

This one time, growing up in wine country, I used it as an excuse to lace my teacher's coffee with acid...
WTF ya'll?

Is it me? Or am I the only one that sees this as outrageous? What the @#*% was this Max thinking? If this is true Max could do this kind of thing again to the wrong person...duh! Maybe a relation of yours with health problems.. or one of your kids in the future...

Taking away a person's prerogative about drugs is about as uncool as it gets. You never know what kind of trip will follow. Practical jokes are funny if no physical danger is involved. Hopefully this story is untrue.

is it just me or does the story feel really cut short? awesome read, I just wanna know what happens after the kid tells the teacher he'll be "goin for a while."

Dosing victims wasn't uncommon amongst my old circles but wasn't right even in a safe environment. Never teachers though just friends.

haha awesome! although 'surprising' people with drugs they don't know they're taking isn't necessarily a great idea...

This makes me so proud to be a Sonoma Valley High School alumni. And for what it's worth, this wasn't the first teacher we did this to in high school. Also, "Mr. Moss" is a fantastic alias for those who know who the teacher really was.
The guy had black light posters and Boris Vallejo prints all over his classroom. All I'm saying is it probably wasn't his first trip...

Sorry, but this story is pretty weak compared to Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing.

yea, here in Florida, a friend of mine went to jail for sneaking a laxative into his teacher's coffee, acid, being a class A drug, would mean serious consequences, Im guessing this is California (might have said in the article, but i dont feel like back-tracking)

Back in the days I VOLUNTARILY took various Hallucinagens, I had some "friends" sneak a hit of LSD into Me in a peanut butter & Jelly sandwich one Sunday morning....VERY UNCOOL!!!! I was scheduled to work at the animal shelter I was a resident caretaker at that day, 80 miles away, & was FORCED to drive that far to get there & then deal with all the large dogs that were My responsibility TALKING to Me....The dogs were cool, but setting someone up that had to travel THAT FAR, DRIVING A CAR,while tripping, in order to keep their job was one of the most chicken-shit things I've ever experienced...of course , the soulless bitch that pulled the stunt is on EVERYBODIES "do not associate with" list, & has been for over 2 decades...

Wish I could find a nice, young gentlemen to give me free drugs....preferrably unknowingly, too. Never know what you're gonna get, right? I love the element of surprise!

That is a pretty down to earth teacher who knows his shit. I would have been a bit more pissed at the kid who dosed me, but I guess in the throws of a LSD trip i wouldn't be getting to angry

Damn, that's a crazy story - could have gone a lot worse! Has anyone read Howard Marks 'Dope stories'? This really reminds me of an acid trip story from that where a guy was given a dose by doctors in a voluntary experiment - it was only supposed to last a few hours but it lasted days, he had the craziest trip (not a good one either) and some of the effects ended up being permanent. It's a really interesting read.

The teacher is a very patient person, at least that's what I got from the article. He understands that kids are going to do drugs and what not. He answers their questions without any hesitation. Not sure what happened after his trip but i doubt he told the authorities about Max. This is the kind of teacher children/teens need. He isn't working in a school for the pay check, he's there for the kids.

that's really fucked up. I'm glad the teacher was cool with it, and he had a good trip. That could have ended much worse.

the teacher most likely didn't know what was happening LSD I've heard is a very strong psychedelic. "The word psychedelic; derived from the Greek words ψυχή (psyche, "soul") and δηλοῦν (deloun, "to manifest"), translating to 'soul-manifesting".

This actually happened at my school once... to the math teacher too! He didn't play it cool like this dude did though. He went directly to the emergency room.
