I enjoy reading all the different opinions on this matter and the one i agree with the most is LETS HAVE A MAJORITY OF MIXED PEOPLE/races/ etc. It is nice to know and respect where one is from, who they are and what not else but it is also important to give another race/culture/country a chance and not to put them down because of judgements made by society. =] i was not born here, but i sure went through discrimination and racism in other countries that i lived in but America has a different racial issue an issue they are trying to hide when it is clearly a big problem once again. it is time people start accepting each other for who and what they are. in every race and culture there are good and bad people but for some this fact is hard to accept. However, its time to be open minded if anyone wants to get anywhere good in life.

Second i have lived in texas my whole life, and growing up here and going to school with Mexican majority schools. I can tell you that Hispanics are just as or more racist towards whites and blacks as anyone. In corpus christi white kids get their shit beat in all the time by the hispanic kids roaming Ray highschool. Where i went in dallas there were not as many hispanic gangs, but lets say you talked down to a Mexican student.

It is a shame that I have to go outside my country to just be American. Here i'm black, but when I travel I'm an American. I go somewhere where everyone looks like you, is a great feeling. But When I'm at home and I go somewhere that I'm the only black person around; sometimes I feel like i'm in a cage for all to see.

People say "your ancestor's owned slaves" and your "people did this" and this and that. That wasn't me!!! Why should I have to atone for the sins of someone else?

I've had people react that way to me because I'm a woman, because I have visible tattoos and piercings, because of my age, and even because I'm "white." And I've seen a few reactions to my relationship with a tattooed, eye-liner wearing, Hispanic man...

Yeah what about mixed races? I come from a family where my grandparents on both of my parents sides are white. But I have an Aunt that married an Arab and another Aunt that married an African-American and they had mixed kids. My family adopted a black girl and she just married a white kid. This study is just assuming that Hispanics are going to be the largest population. I think there is a better chance that mixed race will be the majority.

Personally I believe America has a humongous problem with racism and the fact that everyone is equal is FALSE ! No one in this country is equal no matter what race they are. Whether whites will be a minoritiy or majority : Who cares : people should be asking themselves how we can over come this "oh there are more whites/ oh there are more blacks in my neighborhood" because this is exactly where hate comes from, being unable to accept and be open minded!!! NOT every black man or woman is a criminal nor is every white man or woman a racist. DEAL WITH IT ALREADY!!!

This is just for America. Nordic countries are mainly white and so is Germany and Denmark and they mainly marry within that race...they'll still be populating those whites.

It's funny how being racist towards whites is ok but if I reposted many of the things in the threads above and changed the word White to Mexican or Black or Asian then I would be the one attacked for being the racist. If this happens it happens. Whatever. This nation is WAY too focused on race. Sometimes I think the left is more guilty of it then the right.

Although this won't lead to increased friction between races, I would be interested to see what a Civil "Whites" Movement would look like.

I'm actually tired of all whites being categorized by some to look as though we are all racist, devoid of humanity, or drunk with power. Humanity gives those traits to a percentage of us unfortunately in all ethnic make ups. I'm one of the working poor 'whites' in this country who has never asked for anything nor had anything handed to me simply because of my skin color. I worked my way through school, went out and got jobs on my own, worked hard, raised my family, and never once judged a person based on the color of their skin. So what does this news then suggest? That it will then be time for revenge on whitey? I think some in this country will simply look for any excuse to start a race war. We need to work for sustainability and peace across color and country lines, not make more divisions.

How about writing an article that states that by 2042 we will hopefully have a PEACEFUL country that is sustainable regardless of its racial or ethnic make up? That is, unless the entire eastern seaboard is already under water because people were too damned busy bickering over their differences to do anything about it. Most whites are a mix of many races. There really is no "white" race. I'm half white ( german, italian) and japanese myself. I don't like calling myself "white". I say I'm half or "hapa". I have pride in being mixed.
I think it's good because the term white is too general. This country was built on immigration. American born whites are from european descendants who immigrated here.

It's hard to imagine, despite whatever power shifts may occur, how anything would affect the overall human condition in a significantly positive way.

It does not make a difference, we are all still Americans.

I noticed the other day while selecting my ethnicity from a drop down box that caucasian was on the bottom of the list instead of the top. And I was wondering if it was because I was applying for a job in a primarily latino district or because I was becoming a minority. I guess its probably both. I actually thought wow, its about time.

I only have 30 more years of being a minority??? that really upsets me...

The reason Hispanics have such a boom is due to immigration and high birth rate, that high birthrate is due to the culture from which most come from. Having more kids at a younger age is a good idea from that culture.

As Hispanics settle in the birthrate will lower, and I dont know about the immigration deal, it might go down now but it will be going back and forth between now and 2042.

So is the natural way of things. Whites, I guess we are calling them, will still have the majority though, because 46% is the highest, pluraity (spelling) is voting.

I think its kinda of ignorant in its report, we arent counting hispanics as a part of whites, what about the Russians, Eastern Euros, Italians, Jews, what ever happened to the Middle Easterners?

Anyways, just saying you cant generalize any population, even white. We are not all power seeking white grubby people, theres plenty of power seeking grubby African tribe lords in Africa, a couple totalitarian regimes in Asia, oh and some pretty power hungry guys in South America.

Diversity is a good thing though. So bring it on, I just hope people stop clinging to their ethnicity, let the world mix for once.
