Gaddafi's Tent on Trump's Property: Raw Video

Libyan officials pitched a tent again on Donald Trump's suburban estate Thursday (September 24) a day after it was taken down, prompting town officials to threaten criminal and court action again.

Bedford NY officials arrived at the home early Thursday evening with a stop-work order and a criminal summons. The white-topped tent lined with a tapestry of camels and palm trees and outfitted with leather couches and coffee tables was dismantled Wednesday after town officials said it was erected without permits and Trump said he requested it be removed.

Bedford Town Attorney Joel Sachs said he'd seek a court injunction if the tent hadn't been removed by Friday. Reporters were escorted off the property Thursday before the tent was taken down. Sach's contended the city was not singling out Gadhafi to make him feel unwelcome, but would serve a summons on anyone pitching a large tent without a permit in Bedford, "We would do it if it was a resident of the town of Bedford. We would do it if it was a non resident of the town of Bedford. Even if this was the property owner."

Donald Trump said earlier Thursday that he had "no idea" that Gadhafi might be involved in a deal to rent a section of Trump's estate, a town official said.

As it turned out, the Libyan government erected a tent on Trump's Seven Springs estate for Gadhafi's use during this week's United Nations General Assembly. Townspeople and local politicians fumed about an anticipated visit from Gadhafi, and the town alleged that the tent violated local codes.

Trump's office issued a statement late Wednesday saying that he had asked his unidentified "tenant" to remove the tent, and that the tenant had complied. He and the Secret Service said Gadhafi would not be coming to Bedford.

Gadhafi addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday (September 23) and spoke to the Council on Foreign Relations on Thursday afternoon (September 24) in Manhattan. Gaddafi's requests for space to erect his tent in Central Park, Englewood, N.J., and Manhattan's Upper East Side were all rejected. Rockets Hit Israel from Lebanon: Raw Video

At least two rockets from Lebanon struck northern Israel on Friday (September 11), prompting Israeli artillery to shell the fruit groves from which they were fired, security officials on either side of the border said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties from Israeli police, who said two rockets landed. Lebanese security sources, who reported at least two outgoing missiles and 15 incoming Israeli shells, did not say who may have fired the rockets.

Israeli television later reported a third missile damaged an electricity pylon in the northern community of Gesher Haziv, where policemen and Israeli army personnel gathered to examine the site.

"I heard about some panic here at Gesher Haziv, and it is definitely natural. There are a lot of new residents here and it causes a deja-vu to the Second Lebanon War. But in general, after the announcement that we have made, I think that the system is now back to normal," said Yehuda Shavit, the head of the local council.

Deputy commander of the Galilee district in Israeli police, Kobi Becher, said that the police and army forces were searching the area, but that no other rocket landing sites were found yet.

"We received a message about several explosions that happened in the area. Police and army forces, who scanned the area, detected one hit around some communities. Other than that, nothing was found," Becher said.

It was the first time since February that rockets had been fired from Lebanon into Israel, raising tensions along a border that remains volatile three years after a war between the Jewish state and Hezbollah Islamist guerrillas in Lebanon.

Occasional salvoes since then have been blamed by Israeli, Lebanese and U.N. peacekeeping forces in the area largely on fringe militant groups rather than on Hezbollah, the Iranian- and Syrian-backed Shi'ite movement which remains a powerful force in Lebanon, especially in the south.

Although Hezbollah and Israel have exchanged verbal attacks in recent weeks, there was no indication that Friday's incident -- which fell on the 8th anniversary of al Qaeda's attacks on New York and Washington -- was linked to that conflict.

During Israel's offensive against Hamas Islamists in the Gaza Strip in January, Hezbollah denied responsibility for several rockets fired from Lebanon. Jellyfish Swarm Spain: Raw Video

Swarms of jellyfish could move closer to Spanish shores if climate change, pollution and overfishing are not tackled, the Oceana research group said in a recent study.

Marta Madina, a researcher for the group said unusual concentrations of jellyfish had been found off the Mediterranean coast and Balearic islands in a trend which was likely to continue if the conditions in the sea deteriorated further.

"The natural habitat for jellyfish is more than 20 miles away from the coast. They started moving through the seas 650 million years ago principally with the currents although they have their own movement, but mostly along with the currents. And now they are getting closer to the coastline because there is a rise in temperature, because there is a lot of pollution which can they take as food and because of lack of fresh water all of which have changed the oceanographic conditions of the sea," said Madina.

During the study Oceana found concentrations of Pelagia Noctiluca, commonly known as Mauve stinger, concentrations along the Spanish coast.

The mouve stinger usually lives in open sea but can approach the shores if the water temperature increases and there is a summer drought that can lead to a lack of fresh water, making the sea saltier and more suited to the organisms.

Oceana researchers believe the numbers of jellyfish are on the increase and will affect the fishing industry as well as Spain's large tourism industry.

"Society is becoming much more aware of the deterioration. And society is starting to ask for an equilibrium because there are a lot of sectors being affected. From the Hotel sector. The fishermen themselves who are also asking for a scientific criteria to be able to fish and for the protection of marine areas because they can see results," said Madina.

Fishermen from the Balearic Islands and the southern coast of Spain said that overall they have seen an increase in sightings year on year.

For the fishermen the presence of the creatures is obvious as their hands and arms get stung when the fishing nets are hoisted up.
