Granholm: 'The War Room' will help viewers see 'what's behind the curtain'

Jennifer Granholm, host of "The War Room," says she can bring the benefit of experience to "help the viewers see behind the curtain -- what's really happening in this race for president." She says her familiarity and relationships with many of the players in Washington and in the GOP primary will bring viewers a fresh angle.

    • I know Current tends to be a boys club as does MSNBC. Jennifer Granholm is great and as she is the lone woman with a show of her own, who thought putting her in direct competition with the other cable politically sharp woman? Did someone in scheduling forget to read the "Thinmk" sign or at least run the idea past the ladies in the office? You do have some of those don't you .... in the 1950s typing pool somewhere.

    • As a Michigan journalist, and Michigan politician (I went the opposite direction of the Gov;) I can vouch for Gov. Granholm's candor and transparency as a politician. When I brought our yooper TV cameras down to cover the Democratic Convention in Detroit, I was invited, by her, backstage, in the green room for the entire day. We got to pick the brains of every major Michigan democratic player as they readied for the main stage thanks to her.

      When she knew I was covering specific legislation that related to my specific region, she made a point to call us local journalists directly - and take our tough, well-informed questions from local perspectives; rather than just hiding behind fax machine press releases.

      She's a good person who genuinely cares about her state and country and I think she'll make a fine journalist. Understand that I say this as someone who ran as a Republican against her Democratic Senate Minority Leader. I wish you all the best in your new career.
