I like the fact that she doesn't scream, I think she will be the only political show host that doesn't scream.
Let's see how that works.

JanforGore, Dow Chemical has put a significant effort into clean & sustainable energy and it made sense for Dow and for the Governor to collaborate on that. The Governor has substantial environmental and progressive creds with those of us who have been paying attention. And talk about trying too hard ... you've done everything but cut yourself and bleed all over her picture trying to bring attention to what you have to say about the Governor. And what you have to say about the Governor so far has been all wrong.

Jan is super passionate about the environment and GMOs.
If you follow her, a feature in everyone's profile, you will learn a lot.I too think Granholm has been a friend to the environment, but it still doesn't reconcile with joining the board of DOW.
Perhaps she will address this.

The evasion proves otherwise so don't even think of trying to paint me as being on the wrong side. Oh, and it's called "greenwashing." Nothing sustainable about a company that toxifies rivers with Dioxin and the biodiversity of our planet with toxic GMOs and chemicals no matter how much they or you spin it. And thanks for joining Current just to excoriate me for standing up for people who have died and gotten cancer from companies like and including DOW. I'm flattered.

Again, your attempt to paint me as being on the wrong side for asking for an explanation is what is wrong and I will not be silenced.
"Monsanto & Dow pushing new 2,4-D herbicide into your food.
Posted on February 18th, 2011
Its not surprise that Monsanto, the worlds largest Genetically Modified (GM) food company, and The Dow Chemical Company have initiated a study on a new herbicide called 2,4-D. This new chemical is being studied as a “solution” to the Round-up resistant super-weeds. Here is the kicker; these super-weeds have already been shown to be resistant to this new herbicide.
Each year GM farmers are in battle with these ever growing and more resistant pesticide and herbicide weeds. Of course this perpetuates the polluting of the Earth, “contaminating the food supply, and spurring the rampant growth of harmful superweeds.”
The Dow Chemical Company, using its own study, of 2,4-D states that this new chemical will help prevent the growth of super-weeds. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), estimates that the environmental harm caused by 2,4-D leads to “risk quotients that exceed the level of concern.”
“The report found that if 2,4-D is used the way Dow suggests, humans will be exposed to dangerously high levels of the toxin, which in turn causes autoimmune disorders, cell destruction (apoptosis), nerve damage, metabolic dysfunction, and other serious problems.”
The only way to stop the super-weeds is to stop planting GM crops. Organic farming practices do not use chemicals, which is the cause of the growth of these powerful weeds. Organic farming does not pollute the foods supply and or the environment.
Give a hoot don’t pollute:

~~~~~~
And 2-4 D was a chemical component of Agent Orange, Agent Purple and Agent White and we know the toxic legacy still being lived out. So again my question: why would anyone who claims to care about the environment voluntarily become a member of the board of this company. I do not believe that is too much to ask. - 1 year ago
I was participating in the live chat, during and after the Republican debate tonight. I was bumped from the live debate forum, because I brought up and wanted to talk about cannabis hemp to create jobs in America. Don't know if I will be banned from the next Republican debate live chat. I hope not. They didn't announce it, but I am ashamed none the less. I wasn't saying anything I should be ashamed of. Facts are not shameful! Banning me was kinda shameful.
I don't really think it was fair. The conversation was moving along. I just wanted to talk about what interests me. I made valid points. I really don't see why they would ban me? I didn't say anything abusive. I didn't even know I could be banned. I didn't know I had to read some kind of fine print, before I could talk?
Oh well, live and learn. They claim to want discussion, but following a certain script I guess. I probably would have gotten to stay if I would have stuck to picking on the Republicans more and less on a single issue, which I am interested in.
Talking about corruption in politics coming from someone who was voluntarily on the corporate board of one of the most notorious toxic companies in the world and in the state you governed, DOW... Are you kidding? No wonder you won't answer my question as to why you are a hypocrite regarding your own actions. I think Mr. Gore & Current made a mistake hiring you and I'm disappointed in him because I know he cares about the environment. You are no Progressive however, and it is obvious because you are trying to fit into the mold way too hard. And Teddy Roosevelt was a conservationist FYI and he wouldn't have condoned the pollution/toxification of our planet and the killing of innocent citizens of this world by DOW like you do.
