Vestas wins 140MW wind turbine order in Poland

Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has won an order from Germany's Prokon Energiesysteme to supply turbines with a total generating capacity of 140MW for a series of wind energy projects in Poland.

The company will deliver 70 units of its V90-2.0MW turbine and the contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines and a VestasOnline Business SCADA system.

Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to start in late 2011, with completion estimated for late 2012, and twenty-five of the 70 turbines will be installed in 2011.

Prokon develops renewable energy projects with a focus on wind power, and its total installed wind energy capacity is 385.9MW.
