A completely off the grid building is being built in one of the most environmentally justice impacted communities in the San Francisco Bay Area meant to be a green and sustainable ecological classroom for the youth and community of Bayview Hunters Point.

Groundbreaking ceremony for the EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park. San Francisco's first completely off the grid building will generate its own energy, treat its own wastewater, grow a living green roof, and serve as a hands-on center of education in sustainable building practices, in the midst of an industrial but greening waterfront neighborhood.
