More than 500 Girl Scout troops will grant the wishes of 19 local nonprofit agencies at the 60th Annual Festival of Giving,
10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, at Century II Exhibition Hall.
Free and open to the public.
This just in: Miss Kansas will be signing autographs and playing her trumpet just for Girl Scouts!
The Festival of Giving is the largest Girl Scout service project of the year and provides an opportunity for Girl Scouts (grades K-12) from Butler, Cowley, Harvey, Sedgwick and Sumner counties to say "thank you" to the community for their continued support of Girl Scouting. The girls hand make or purchase gifts for the agencies, as well as host booths with service projects that reflect this year's theme "Hand in Hand, We Can."
Girls are encouraged to bring gifts and furry friends for the
"Teddy Bear Slumber Party," as well as bring canned goods for local food banks.
