Friday, February 5th, the 3rd Annual Healdsburg Wild Steelhead Festival will kick off with the Steelhead Gala Dinner held at Hotel Healdsburg, featuring fine wines and dinner of Wild Alaskan Steelhead prepared by Charlie Palmers' Dry Creek Kitchen. Begins at 6pm.
Special Guest Speaker this year will be Jim Lichatowich, author of 'Salmon without Rivers'.
Saturday, February 6th, is the date for main event in the Plaza in Downtown Healdsburg, from 10am-4pm. This fun day under the tents has educational exhibits, a free trout pond for the young angler's to try their luck, a fly fishing demonstration pond with tips from the pros, fishing gear and boats, art for kids, cooking demos by local chefs at 12 noon, 1:15 and 2:30. Be sure to check out the live steelhead display as these beautiful fish swim around. There will be music from the Rose Town Ramblers, and wine tasting from Quivira, Steelhead Wines, Truett-Hurst Vineyards, Merriam Vineyards, Michel Schlumberger Vineyards, Camellia Cellars and Simi Winery. Tasty treats from Chef Mateo Granados, Dry Creek Kitchen, Costeaux French Bakery, Vintage Valley Catering and Love Farms will be available for purchase.
Sunday, February 7th, there will be fish- themed cooking classes at the acclaimed Relish Culinary Center in Healdsburg. Or book a fishing trip to those secret spots with experienced guides. Please click on Guides,Cooking, Kayaks for more information on cooking or to book a great trip. Family activities, art for kids, fish sorting, food, music and more will take place 10 -3pm at the Lake Sonoma Fish Hatchery.
