Here’s an interesting documentary film for you - Carts of Darkness, about a subculture of street life involving the homeless and the extreme sport of shopping cart racing. The film by Murray Siple is a feature-length documentary that “follows a group of homeless men who have combined bottle picking with the extreme sport of racing shopping carts down the steep hills of North Vancouver.

    • *sigh* Vancouver, when will you start addressing the homeless situation? Especially on East Hastings. The Vancouver 2010 Olympics are going to be a shitshow what with the terrible management from both Sam Sullivan and Gordon Campbell. Fucking Ralph Klein sending all the homeless over on buses from Alberta didn't really help the situation out though.

    • you're scrutinizing the mechanics of it , maybe with an air of superiority , trying to see how it actually isn't as extreme as taking a bike downhill at whistler during the summer , etc . , and when you realize the f-ed up weight distribution involved , and the fact that they're taking this thing downhill , hanging off the rear of it , without any added weight in the front to balance it out , you either understand that respect is due , or you fuck off .
