Britain is off its spotted dick?

Indian, Chinese and Thai dishes are rapidly replacing classic British food like Steak and kidney pie and spotted dick.

The research warns that some dishes are prepared so infrequently they could disappear completely by 2021. Dishes under threat of extinction include spotted dick, the pudding dating back more than 200 years, which had only been prepared by 5% of under 40s. Steak and kidney pie, had been cooked by a mere 13% of that age group.

    • ah, the winds of cultural change. what can we do? it's the natural way of things. new ethnic groups expand their populations in an area and subsequently their cultural impact. I for one think it's exciting. I love the Spanish and Mexican cultural impact I see in my own area. it just adds to the melting pot, baby.
