Democratic Congressman Peter Welch of Vermont speaks out with Bill about the latest in the ongoing fiscal cliff negotiations in Congress and the possible impact on social security. Congressman Welch says he is opposed to cuts in chained CPI because he says “it is a cut in social security.” He stresses the fact that Social Security is not the reason the country is in debt. The Congressman also says that House Speaker Boehner is coming around from what Congressman Welch calls Boehner’s “over my dead body kind of negotiating.” Bill adds, “(Rep. Boehner) needs to cave more.” The Congressman says the American people need to stay patient and “give the President latitude and not get too worried too soon.”
