HP’s Small and Medium Business division sent out an e-mail to its customers who placed orders but did not receive shipment of the now-discontinued TouchPad. The company told its customers that it will start fulfilling their orders at the promised discounted price – $99 – in about six to eight weeks. The e-mail was sent directly at SMB customers only, and does not apply to other customers who might have unfulfilled orders from the regular home channel.

The time frame shows that the company would be fulfilling the said orders by the end of October, which is similar to the company’s stated intent of shipping a new batch of units by the end of its current fiscal quarter. HP has not yet unveiled the quantity of unfulfilled orders for the webOS tablet, but it is said that the firm or its suppliers had enough parts and inventory on hand to build at least 100,000 TouchPad.
