UN humanitarian chief blasts Hamas, calls for Israeli accountability

The UN's top relief official has accused Hamas of violating international law by its "reckless and cynical" use of civilian shields, but called for Israelis to be held accountable for violating the principle of proportionality in its bombing of UN facilities in Gaza.

John Holmes, under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator, delivered his assessment during a briefing to the Security Council late Tuesday evening in New York on the work of the UN's Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza.

    • All I can say is that there is a ton of Israeli propaganda here.

It's funny how this article talks about Hamas and not Israels crimes against humanity.

      Amazingly wrong.

    • Of course, the question no one EVER asks themselves is...

What the hell are Palestinians SUPPOSED to do?

What would you do if you lived lives as atrocious as they do? What would you do if the law of the land was that you didn't even own the land you lived on and that your ancestors has lived on for generations?

What would you do if your ENTIRE family was killed in an IDF bombing? Even if it was legitimately in self-defense? Would you just shrug your soldiers and say "oh well, it wasn't their fault right?"

No, you wouldn't. No one would.

The only reason people still take Israel's side is because no one gives a shit about brown people. They're just a bunch of Arabs right? A bunch of dirty Muslims? Who cares if they all die, one Israeli life is worth a hundred dirty Arab lives isn't it?

When you think about the conflict that way, it's not so comfortable to shrug it all off is it?

    • Did Hitler move to Israel???people seem to have more of an issue with bloodlines than with real issues...

can any one else see genocide ?

you think that because of similar experience (historically...)
that the UN would act a little more efficiently...

Are we as humans still so primitive!!!
I feel embarrassed to be in the same time frame...
what ever happened to smarter not harder?

    • Wait a minute. A UN functionary said something not nice about Hamas. I refuse to believe that. It did not happen. This is a lie. This person needs to be reprimanded. I urge the E.U. to file a formal complaint in the hopes of sanctioning these types of views. We ALL know this is all about evil Israel and disproportionality. Heavens the 6,000 Hamas rockets sent so far don't even aim straight. And so what if a few baby carriages, babies, women and unarmed Palestinian citizens are used for human shields. This seems perfectly fair to many other people unlike this lying scum from the UN. Thanks.

    • The "world" watched in silence as Palestinian terrorists blew up Israeli civilians and rocketed southern Israel for the last 8 years

Now the "world" has woken up because Israel has finally decided to stop Hamas and the other Palestinian terror groups.

The "world" - whoever the fuck that is, is still asleep though as 100 innocent people a die of malaria.

OF course, the "world" doesn't care about malaria victims, Congo, Sudan etc... because that doesn't involve Israel.

All phony anger and indignation is reserved for Israel by the aptly named Highroller and the Owellian named WorldPeaceTV

      So goes the "World"

Typical Israeli tactic, remove all context and use total extremes.

They didn't "stand by" while these attacks were going on. THEY FUCKING RETALIATED AND KILLED TENS AS MANY PALESTINIANS,

And you KNOW that, you propagandist.
