I think it's really important to also consider how water corporations, like Nestle, PepsiCo and others, have adversely impacted global communities by prioritizing profit over public health. In times of crisis and tragedy, basic necessities like water become all the more vital. Take a look at this documentary that discusses the current water crisis: http://www.flowthefilm.com/

Uhhh yeah about this statement: "Since the January 12th earthquake, clean water has been one of the most precious commodities in Haiti."
I'm pretty sure clean water has been a precious commodity in Haiti for several decades. THEY EAT FUCKING DIRT! LITERALLY THEY ATE FUCKING DIRT BEFORE THE EARTHQUAKE!
I hate all these people that pretend to care about Haiti AFTER the earthquake when before it was basically in the same shitty state.

Futuregen: The latest news I read about was the relocation on buses of up to 400,000 to the cities outside of Port Au Prince. I too wonder if these people will ever truly be allowed to return. I wouldn't be surprised if the US levels it and builds a military base there in the not too distant future.
But hey, good job Current in showcasing the CORPORATE PR arm of this that is in it for profit instead of showcasing the REAL organizations out there breaking their a@@es to do all of the work to bring these people medical care and water.

If the people are forced out of their houses, off their land, I'm afraid they will loose everything. The Americans might build a skyscraper or casino on top of where these people now live (or a military base). I wonder if there is any organization that can guarantee these people will not loose the right to their land/ house.

JanforGore, I'm beginning to think they are leaving the water, food, supplies at the airport on purpose. The 1/22/2010 airing of Anderson Cooper 360 almost insinuated that the people would have to go to the airport, that the tent cities were near the airport. My guess is they are trying to clear the streets and force people out of the city(ies) so they can bring in CAT bulldozers and level the place. Not sure but it sounds like everything is being encouraged to be at the airport. They shouldn't stop the rescue yet. It was just reported more people were found alive today.

Take the Haiti challenge and help real organizations looking to get clean potable water to Haiti without the Nestles or Bechtels of the world placing them in servitude. And my question to Nestle would then be, where were YOU before this earthquake hit so you could use a tragedy as PR to up your image? Again, these poor people need the water now, but bottled water is still a scam and an environmental threat to our planet. And thank Maine for the water since Nestle more than likely pumped it out of their acquifers to make a profit. It isn't NESTLE'S WATER.

Great. They need water now, which is the only reason I support this effort. Then how about actually getting them hooked up to clean water and sanitation so they don't have to depend on Nestle or some other private company for the rest of their lives while paying through the nose. These people also haven't just gone without water for a week, it has been YEARS thanks to companies pumping it out of their acquifers. Let us not forget that.
