Just a couple months back, on December 18, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly, by unanimous consent, passed the resolution designating April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) in perpetuity starting in 2008.
The 192 representatives of the U.N.'s Third Committee adopted the WAAD resolution by consensus. An art exhibit "Don't 'dis' the ability" will be featured at the United Nations.
I know first-hand what a complex condition Autism is and I'm glad the world is learning more and more about it.
