We have a new VCAM assignment for HP's Wireless Printing. We want you to make an ad showing you harnessing the power of HP's wireless printing by showing us how it can help you create amazing things and get things done from anywhere in your home.
Check out the full assignment desk here:
www.current.com/hp
Deadline is October 15th.
Also, the first 50 uploaders will receive an awesome VCAM tee shirt, so submit early.
NOTE: Is your VCAM still locked from public viewing? Shoot me an email if it's been more than 48 hours since you uploaded (not including weekends :P).
EDIT (10/16/08): Hi everyone -- we're currently screening the latest submissions. sit tight and we'll start unlocking them in the next few days.

Hi eradek,
Please bear with us while we screen these submissions. They have to go through a round of approvals before we post them live. Your VCAM is at the top of today's queue.
Thanks!

Jumpyjack, you misunderstand. Tania is not with HP, she is with Current. Darrell works for Current also, and was simply telling me that Current was watching my upload, because I have a relationship with them. I assume Current picks what's best and then HP picks from there. Everyone has a fair and equal shot. You might consider sending a message next time you are confused, rather than freaking out and posting stuff and freaking other people out. I uploaded 5 Vcams and only one is viewable and that took DAYS.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks -- HP ultimately decides which ads they want.
SelmA, your VCAMs are in review. We're going to be cranking through the weekend to screen them all!

if you can add "HP VCAM" as a suggested topic.. we should be able to find it. It's important to make sure that you label it as a VCAM though.
Let us know!

It was 25 seconds some time ago than the submission made it 30! Also there were no end tags in the submission it appeared suddenly on the submission!
What's this? - 3 years ago

qutai:
Hey qutai,
Yeah, it originally was 25 seconds, but we've added a 5 second end tag. so we're asking producers to attach it to their creative, which is why the time restriction is 30 seconds.
Yes, there are some ads that went over the 30 second mark. If these ads are chosen, we will work with the producer to edit it down to 30 seconds. This could either mean a re-shoot or a re-edit.
Rule of thumb though.. try to keep your VCAM at 30 seconds. It'll save you and us alot of time in the long run.
I hope that answers your question.

Hey born2bounce,
There are no age limits.. except.. if you are a minor, make sure you have your parents' permission. This applies to all crew members, actors, and producers.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,

Hi David,
When I upload my video, on the upload page I select VCAM. Does this auto submit my video for the HP VCAM? Also, does it take sometime to get reviewed then posted because I dont see mine listed with the other hp videos.
Thanks for your time.

Hey David,
When it says we need to use the line Live Wirelessly, Print Wirelessly, does that mean we need to say it? or would using it in a graphic be enough?

What format would the VCAM need to be in? Since most networks are now broadcasting in HD, does the video need to be availabale in HD? Or would an entry in regular DV format be eligible? Thank you for your time.

Goldentree:
Hey Goldentree,
DV-format is a-okay. If you're VCAM is chosen, we'll ask you to submit a DV-NTSC export of the submission.
We will accept HD, but just know that we'll convert it to DV-NTSC.
I hope that helps!

Can you use any brand of laptop in the commercial (not showing logos of course)?

dylmister234:
Hey dylmister234,
Yep! Just make sure that the viewer can't easily mistake it for a commercial for the laptop. For example, no full-frame shots of the laptop and it shouldn't be the main focus.Hope that helps!

I just downloaded the archive using my very antique Mac PPC G4 single processor 733Mhz, running OSX 10.4.11 (Leopard won't install on this antique!) and it downloaded and opened just fine! I can see all files, though the Illustrator files don't want to open directly, I have to "import" them and one is blank?

Some questions:
What if we don't have wireless printer? Is it possible for us to simulate "wireless" printing on another HP printer or will that disqualify me? - 3 years ago
-

dnguyen
-
knadaouseproductions:
hey there! while it would be ideal if you were using a wireless printer.. you don't necessarily have to have one. feel free to simulate wireless printing on another printer, but be vague about it. Make the printer look as generic as possible - cover up logos (unless it's HP) and don't show the entire printer (you wouldn't want to confuse the consumer).
