Bail reduced for Maine woman charged in beating her husband

PORTLAND, Maine — A judge has reduced the bail for a Standish woman accused of beating her husband with a baseball bat on Easter morning.
Bail for 47-year-old Linda Dolloff was reduced Thursday from $100,000 to $25,000 in cash. She has entered no plea on charges of attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault and filing a false report in connection with the April 12 attack on Jeffrey Dolloff.
Police say she initially claimed that an intruder entered their home, beat her husband and then shot her in the abdomen.
The Portland Press Herald said defense lawyer Martin Ridge argued that the $100,000 bail should be reduced given Dolloff’s clean criminal record and her close ties to her family and the community.

    • How did she get shot in the abdomen? Self-inflicted or husband inflicted? There's more to this story.
      Fact is crazier than fiction.
Did she post bail when it was decreased? Is she out walking around? Is the husband in the hospital? Or is he out and about? A lot of unanswered questions.

    • This is treated the same as drunk driving causing bodily harm or death. i.e., it isn't considered a real crime. She could have drunk herself into oblivion, run over her husband, and she would have gotten away with 3 months in jail. Wife beating is a crime- but husband beating? The judges must figure she was justified. A lot of moron judges out there.

    • Why domestic violence against men is not prosecuted as serious as against women? What support did this man receive from the organizations that benefit by DV federal funds?
I also find it very sad that this violent woman initially claimed that an intruder beat her husband and then shot her. But media and our justice system downplayed all of this because she is a woman.
